After a few years on the shelves at Foundry's up in Nottingham John's demons finally sees the light of day. Today, Wargames Foundry has announced the release of their "new" Despoiling Demons of Death and Destruction. The new range consists of demons sculpted by both John Pickford and Kev Addams. The Demons are already available for purchase and can - from today - be picked up from their web store - here.

And here - taken from today's newsletter - is a small teaser of John's Winged Demons, Succubus and the lovely Dagloritous and his servant Alotherup

Collecting John Pickford: Wiki Update

Gave the Collecting John Pickford wiki a good overhaul yesterday. Uploaded more than a 100 new pictures - and lots of new stuff have been added - like:

But also this little gem - a very limited conceptual piece:

Goblin Fanatic

There might just only be two castings in existence - and one of them is now in my possessions. Wonderful piece and I'm quite determined now doing a small Goblin Army based on Foundry's. Collecting "Poshgoblin" Miniatures calls for an Goblin army, doesn't it?

"Arrr!" - Captain John and Sea Scum

Today, my entry for the BSL round 2. Can't tell how it ended, as the poll ain't closed yet - but I am allowed to share them, so ...... here they are :-)

For this round two I've converted some WKmini dwarfs into Pirates. Most of them are very minor conversions - but the Pirate Captain took a bit more work. Here's a WIP.

The trained eye will spot that it ain't entirely WK's - and Old Bugman Range (Citadel) has been added to the crew, due to the "pirate" look. Rest is WK's - Floozie (with added hat and sword), plug-in dwarf with converted head, pistol and hook, Set 2 dwarf (Captain John) with converted coat, hat, sword/sword arm) on a Fenris Games DS base, set 2 dwarf (with bandanna).

And then all painted!

A few new pieces

As said yesterday, I've been painting for a "commission" I took back in September 2011. A good friend asked for help painting his Orcs and Goblins, and offered my help especially after knowing that part of his collection was some of Wargames Foundry Renaissance Orcs (or Ogres, as they like to call them now).

Painted the first one straight away, but the other two kept sitting on my desk. Been felling so bad not finishing these, so now that I'm back I "forced" myself finishing them - asap. Not that I needed to be forced, though. The miniatures are done by Kev Adams and ooze of character and was rather fun painting - so when I first started the miniatures painted themselves, so to say. Only distraction has been my Brush Slave League (BSL) round 2 team.

So here are they:

Wargames Foundry: Renaissance Orcs

And a group shot of all 3 ....

But please remind me of this, next time I say yes to do something like this :)

Another piece I've been looking forward painting is now finished. Many years ago I was the lucky owner of the unreleased Marauder Miniatures Dwarf on Pony, but traded it for something more needed 8-10 years ago, and have (of course) regretted it many times since. Why do we never learn?

But with WKs awesome stuff, I now had the chance to create myself a new heroic leader for my Pickford/Marauder dwarfs.

Back in October I shared this at Twitter.com:

It's a converted WKmini Light Cavalry Pony Rider turned into a classic Lance Knight with some accessories from Miniature-Heroes - and would now do the job perfectly.

He is now painted and looks like this:

WKmini: Dwarf Light Cavalry (conversion)

Quite pleased with him actually - and think I might do one or two more :-D But next (WKminis) on the list are the Pony Rider Command with converted banner bearer and drummer, but I might save them for the BSL round 5 :-P
